Here is my first Yodio post...technically, it's my second, but you would never be able to tell. :)

  1. Hi Kara, I think you posted the wrong video here. I almost did the same thing. Thought I should let you know, so you could get the literacy one up.

  2. Hi Kara...just re-post your literacy Yodio here--the two questions about reading. Let me know if you need help.

Kara, I enjoyed the way you mentioned images in your definition of reading, because I hadn't really thought of that as a distinct element of the reading process! While letters are indeed symbols themselves for certain ideas, in this case sounds, both audial and verbal, images too carry their own connotations as to what an object looks like, and what word is associated with it. However, I'm not sure if your audio was cut off, because I could only listen to 47 seconds of it! I would have loved to hear more on your strategies regarding different levels of learners :)

  4. Listening to your Literacy Yodio at the URL, I find that I agree with you that we use the same strategies for learning to read as we do learning anything else, and I like that you made the point that these comprehension strategies can be taught. What are your ideas about how we can teach those strategies? Your post also makes me think about how can we determine the levels of each student so we can reach every student where they are. I see where you are going with this. Mishelle
