Hi Craig. Hope your not too flooded out in your area. I was also surprised by some of the facts in Readicide. The author seemed to back up his point of view with a lot of studies. Which I appreciate. Otherwise the book would just appears to be one persons opinion. - Eric
Hi Craig. Sounds like you got cut off. True, there are varying opinions on whether you are reading if you are not interpreting/making meaning of what you are reading. Another way to state the question might be, "Are students learning if they are memorizing and not making meaning?"
I'm interested in what you said about how students can't really divorce what he/she learned from the context in which he/she learned it. I want to think about this more and reflect more. Thanks!
