Karina- I agree with everyone else. It sounded like you got cut off. I agree when you said that in reading you are using prior knowledge in order to acquire new knowledge. In reading, we need to learn the basics and build on that. -Mayra

Unfortunately we weren't able to hear the rest of your post. I think your emphasis on understanding context - what you said about using what you know to learn something new - is what I love so much about reading. It can lead to so much new and exciting information and ideas.
