Hi All...

Here are some of my reflections on the readings this week. Thanks!

  1. I like your point that reading and learning are a process, that we cannot expect perfection. I think that in our stumpbles and faulters and failures, we are actually gaining grounnd in the learning process. Learning to reading is a very individual thing. We cannot expect kids to all be at the same level at the same time. We need to give them time and patients to develop their skills and become ready for the next step.

I, too, like your point about learning being a process. All students learn differently and at are at different levels. I also agree with Karina that as teachers, we need to be patient and allow the students to learn and develop at their own pace. Children are going to make mistakes, but will learn from them and will move forward.

  2. I agree with your response as well as the other comments as well. reading is a learning process and as everyone has said every student is going to learn at different levels. As teachers we have to understand this and be willing to work with each level of student. Each child will have a different experience with reading and by creating the best experience will only make them enjoy reading for the future.
