Hey guys sorry thought I posted this on Sunday but for some reason when I went to do comments I just noticed it wasn't published. That is really weird that it did not post. Sorry guys, here is my response.
I'm glad that you enjoyed watching the writing workshop videos and felt like you got ideas that you might integrate into your classroom. Writing motivation is something that all teachers have to pay attention to. Even those teachers with the best intentions and creative methods have difficulty with this. For example, my eight year old is in second grade and they do writing workshop in the K - 3 classes. For some reason, she hates writing workshop and finds it boring. Of course, this is hard for me to hear because I love writing workshop as a teacher. I suspect that she finds it "boring" because she is confronted by the blank page every day. I think that the teacher doesn't do much with mini lessons and helping the students to generate writing ideas. (It could just be my very demanding daughter, though!). Anyway, elementary teachers have such a responsibility to keep writing fun and meaningful for their students.
